If you mean by drum notation a sheet music editor it is not possible.
But you can record a Midi input in Hydrogen.

By the way, Chris, do you agree i put your patterns in the Drummer's
Free Art?

Did you answer this question already?

My problem is this. I want to make drum part for a song. I want to put
this on paper as drumnotation (not a pattern for a drum machine). I want
to play the notation with a sound which sounds as real as possible. I
want to record that drum part (in Ardour).

Are there people who make drum notation and record it (in ardour)?

Thanks in advance,

Dirk

Yes! Yes! In the previous post. Sorry. It wasn't very visible.

I use the midi file from lilypond i wrote, open it in Rosegarden,
connect to Hydrogen and then record in Ardour.

How does rosegarden handle the mapping?  Could one use a SoundFont
like ns7kit (can't find a link right now), with the fluidsynth DSSI
(or appropriate hardware)?  If so, that's almost certainly easier than
using Hydrogen.

Your suggestion is the way I program drums normaly. Instanciate the fluid
DSSI, load the soundfont to it and select the program. That's it.

You can also use mutiple instances of the synth with the same soundfont if you
wanna have the different drums sounds on seperate tracks. The SF is loaded
just once and you can mix them statically in the mixer.

Of course. But you can also upload drums samples that you like in
Hydrogen, build once and for all a drumkit, for instance with a
GM mapping which corresponds with the most of midifiles and that's it.
Plus. I like very much the 32 outputs  which are so easy to connect in
Ardour if you number the one you use.
For me the main problem is the homogeneous samples in a drumkit.
Cheers

How do you make a drumkit?
32 outputs?
homogeneous samples in a drumkit?

Go to the Drumkit Manager in Hydrogen. (Alt+D )
Load a drumkit, for example GMkit.
Save it with an other name.
Now you see your new drumkit in the Manager.
Load it. Double click on a instrument name in the Mixage (Alt+M)
Go to Layers and then load layer. You can choose a sample on your disk.
It's better to gather all the the new drumkit samples in a directory.
Don't forget to save the drumkit after all your loads

Yes. Not a dry closed hit-hat and a reverb open hi-hat.

Hi, yes of course, no problem. Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier! I
will add a link to your page from my post.

Best,

Chris.

And so I. Many thanks.
On the site i will only edit the useful patterns. Use the pdf like you
want. Download before I remove it. It's for you.

As you've seen I was experimenting some notation for the velocities. I
get rid of this issue. I think the better way to solve it is a second
midifile from the source with velocities. So it will be more easy to
use. (straightforward usable?) Thoughts?
As for me this feature is for the next year. First the sources with a
Free Art License.
But again like an experiment I wonder if you'd mind ( you or someone
else) editing the attached midi file in a sequencer.
In this way we'll obtain more accurate patterns.
In any case many thanks.

The midi file contains:

Hip Hop : 3 patterns
Big Beat: 2 patterns
2-step Garage: 2 patterns + "it's more interesting": 1 pattern
Dubstep / Grime: 3 patterns
Jungle Drum and Bass: 4 patterns

Cheers

Phil.
