How to create index of local repository automatically?

I have defined the local repository in M2 Eclipse, the root of it can be shown, but no jar files in the repository is indexed, please tell me how to index the local repository automatically? thanx a lot!

  I am not sure what you meant by "defined local repository", because
Maven local repository is handled automatically and you don't really
need to define anything, so "Maven Indexes" view always show it. It is
supposed to be indexed on first start and then updated incrementally
when things are downloaded from within Eclipse. Also note that you can
also reindex it at any time using "Update Index" action from the popup
menu on repository entry.

I just define the local repository by modifying the settings.xml in %userprofile%/.m2.
