Hi dear SCIM users,
I find the idea of SCIM great but because of following reason I would like to terminate SCIM or at least change the key-bindings:
To make life more comfortable I use "xbindkeys" [1]. It's a program that associates keys or mouse buttons to shell commands under X.
It happens quite often that when I start a program over xbindkeys (hotkey: shift+ctrl+other key) SCIM is triggered and the font is changed from English to Japanese or something similar :-).
At the beginning this was quite funny but now this is really annoying.
I already tried to change the key-binding of SCIM (SCIM setup->Global setup->Hotkeys) but SCIM is still triggered.
I also tried to terminate SCIM over the terminal but the window manager (GNOME) restarts it always again :-( .
I'm using "Cent OS release 5" with GNOME 2.16.0. I only have user wrights and no root permissions, which means I can't change any global files or settings.
What is the standard approach to this problem?
