Re: Help! I'm new to farcry!Did you create a Nav item off of HOME on the Site tab? Did you create a HTML page as a child of that Nav? The nav itself won't work unless it has a page, include, or something similar. elaine On Apr 28, 2008, at 11:28 AM, Lenstick wrote: > > Hi there, > > I have installed farcry successfully and have created a navigation > item off of the webroot and then added a HTML page of which i have > then approved. Re: Help! I'm new to farcry!I have the same problem. I had my host provider install farcry 4.0.9, it install successfully. Then I watched the demo by jeff coughlin. Tried to it duplicate it on my website, the demo was for farcry 3. I created a navigation folder off of home. Just gave it a title. Approved it. The tab is on the home folder, great. I then create a html page under my navigation folder i just made. Called it the same name as the navigation folder. Added a line to the body and clicked complete. Approved the branch. Refreshed my website and the tab gives me "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found". The url says "http://www.mysite.com/go/about". Please someone help me. I have been on this problem for awhile.

I have been on this problem for awhile. Steve, I've seen this error happen before if you activate Friendly URLs in the FarCry admin config, but do not have a url redirect modifier installed on your webserver (or it is not functioning correctly). To quickly test this, you can try disabling friendly urls in FarCry and see if your pages function correctly (without friendly urls). Then if you'd like to reactivate them, check out the wiki for more details http://docs.farcrycms.org/display/FCDEV30/Friendly+URL+Configuration (yes, these docs are in the FC3 wiki, but the instructions should be the same for FC3.0 - 5.0). Re: Help! I'm new to farcry!Thank you very much Jeff. That identified the problem. Sadly, my host doesn't provide ISAPI re-write software installed on shared Windows servers. Please keep making video tutorials. Suggestion: Videos for farcry 5 tailored for host servers
