Help!! Can't run GIMP??

I installed Gimp 2.4 for Windows, and when I click the icon to
start the program, the startup screen displays "Looking for data files"
and "Fonts (this may take a while)" underneath that, then it stops and
up pops a gimp 2.4.exe error screen. I am not having any problems
running any other programs...I'm not sure what other info to include in
this post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And are we supposed to guess at what error msg. you got?

What does that "error screen" actually say?

From where did you download the GIMP (exact file name and Web site)?
What version of Windows are you running?
