There's a few people who seem to have some back-burner projects going
for various improvements to the existing y-win code, but in the
overall it is quite stale from lack of interest.

Hello Brandon,
is there any sign that Mark Thomas is still listening to the mailings
lists or just doing anything for the Project.
Or did he abandoned it ?

If the Project is abandoned i would like to takeover the maintenance of
y-windows.
I'm not a perfect programmer but my knowledge is good enough to write
patches and addons for y-windows.
In my current position i got the needed time to recooordinate the
project for a second approach in development.
My special interessts and abilities are in network engineering so i can
handle a lot of network connectivty problems in y-windows with ease.

Everyone who reads this is free to tell his opinion about my plans.

kind regards and best wishes for the new year,
Robert.

The most recent post that my archives have from Mark was last January. However, the list has been relatively quiet for quite awhile. Although I've only done some trivial stuff with Y (and thus my vote should mean very little), if Mark has other things to do, it may be appropriate for a maintainer.

Time is something very lacking around here. Everyone's got other important things and of those that did have time, a lot are working on the mainstream next-gen X stuff (afaics).

Recently there has been a string of people introducing improvements or themselves on the list as developers. A lot of their posts go unanswered though. More involved leadership could unify such a group.

Aye.
