If so, please show me how or perhaps provide hints.

Thanks,

If you need a way to render 3D maps, you should check NASA World Wind
for Java.

Thank you,

I was hoping to wrap JXMapKit to a shere shape some how since it is a panel. Is it possible?

Anyway I've looked at the NASA site and install their demo. It looks great but it's not coded for performance.

It is amazing fast, indeed. :-) It takes advantage of the hardware
acceleration of the graphic card, which is the only way to go for such
complex graphic renderings. If you saw it running slowly, this means
it wasn't able to detect the hardware on your PC, which is usually a
matter of drivers. Are you using Linux, by chance?

The problem I had with it last time I tried it was the downloading of the maps that was incredibly slow. I couldn't see being able to use it in a product in that state (even if the licence allowed it). The bandwidth and continued support in the future were to much of an unknowable.

Also office machines are likely to skimp on the 3D acceleration options.

Drawing SurfacePolyline or SurfacePolygon slow things down so bad for me.
Do you have a work around?

Thanks,

It's not the right place to ask, since WWJ is not part of SwingX - you
should go to the NASA World Wind for Java forum.
