A Japanese guy has implemented (on test basis) H.264 on RTMP using Ruby
on OSX.

Feed Demo Page (English compatible: click once to enable audio)
http://vixy.tv/izumi-h264/

Programmer's blog (written in Japanese)
http://d.hatena.ne.jp/takuma104/20080317/1205783390

Demo Video on Server Start
http://vixy.tv/images/izumi_h264_demo.mp4

In the blog, it seems that he is considering the possibility of opening
the source.

Does anyone know this developer?  Is he available to discuss his
findings?

Hi.

These are great news.

Any idea if Red5 would support live H.264 encoding as Wowza does?

Regards,
Stas.

Hi.

Just wanted to update that the developer has published the source code
on Google code:
http://code.google.com/p/rubyizumi/

Any idea if it's possible to incorporate this code into Red5?

Regards.

Is there a broadcaster/encoder yet? Or should I build my own and just point it?

Great work people. You're fast.

The RTSP support is a separate effort, it may or may not be released with our h264 implementation.

Needless to say that these two separate efforts combined in one working release will make a lot of happy puppies!
