Looking at defenses of stealing from Web 2.0 image "sharing" sites is similar to looking at the gee-whiz exclamations and justifications of those getting a few dozen downloads a week from their microstock site. Oh, the outrage that any photographer would complain about having one of their images used freely on the web. Don't they know they are getting EXPOSURE! (No one ever explains how you are supposed to buy groceries or pay the rent with exposure.)
But for all those who believe the world of the web is leaving them behind and that they need to be there or be square (as we used to say 40 years ago), here is a link to an irritating little ditty that you should play every time you are tempted to put a good chunk of your valuable time into going Web 2.0--MySpace or YouTube or Flickr or whatever. The amusing sidelight for us in the biz is that the original version of this video used an image without permission and drew the ire of the photographer when she found out. So this is the 1.1 version without the image getting all the free exposure.
