Google Summer Of CodeHi,
it's time to add Slate to the project list. That would be a great chance to get the compiler and maybe even the UI finished. Bye, Waldemar |

Re: Google Summer Of CodeAgreed, but there are less ambitious projects that would be equally
rewarding. I'll start forming something for that. Thanks. On Sun, April 16, 2006 5:10 am, Waldemar Kornewald said: > Hi, > it's time to add Slate to the project list. I read that as being for May 1st. I'll try to submit *something* tonight for it. Thanks for pointing that out. -- http://tunes.org/~water/brice.vcf |

We'll see if my submission was accepted, although I heard from other Smalltalkers that Squeakers tried it last year and were rejected (the presumption was that the project has to be relatively mainstream, although that's hearsay). -- -Brian http://tunes.org/~water/brice.vcf |

Re: Google Summer Of CodeI should say, however:
That said, the short whitepaper I wrote up is going to get turned into a prospectus for student academic credit for projects, via some links I have with the University of Washington. There do seem to be some interested students already. Of course, I'll release it publicly for re-use once it's in decent shape (after feedback from the local prof's).
