Getting screen shots to the clipboard

Hi,

The previous version of GIMP I was using had a function to copy the
existing image to the clipboard and then I could paste it into a
document or wherever.  I have upgraded to 2.4.4 and that feature is
gone.  If I just select the normal copy from the edit menu and then
paste, nothing is pasted into my document.  Am I missing a new function
for this?

TIA,
Kim

Oh, no! Don't use the Gimp for screen shots. Use Gadwin Print Screen
4.3 freeware; simply the best I've ever seen.

hi, tia.
well.. my gimp works very well.
I can paste some graphic data from other program to gimp image, or
copy some part of gimp image, and paste it to other program as like OOo..
no matter to do it. I'm using gimp 2.4.5 on windows xp

so if you have problem, please try this.
at first, remove(or rename) your profile folder, and excute gimp. then gimp
will do custom installation process. or just reinstall gimp(notice you
must remove
your profile folder. C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\.gimp-2.4

I just installed 2.4.5 (Windows). Edit|Copy certainly copied and pasted to
another application for me. I have noticed in the past (using 2.4.0?) that
that has occasionally not worked; must have been some Windows internal
corruption because restarting fixed the problem.
