GIMP groups?

I belong to a few PSP groups where we have weekly challenges to create
different images and we can also show off our images, share tutorials,
, get help with the program, ect. I've been looking for something like
that for GIMP. Something with a few other ladies? So far, what I've
found seems to be mainly guys using GIMP to make manga style sig tags.
Does anyone know of any GIMP groups that would be similar to the PSP
groups I enjoy?

Melisa

mmdm2000, there is <a href="http://photoshopcontest.com/">Photoshop
Contest</a> »http://www.photoshopcontest.com«

Open to anyone, with any sort of photo editor software. Some serious
pshoppers there.

And of course, <a href="http://www.fark.com/Contests.html">Fark</a>.

»http://www.fark.com/Contests.html« Much fun at Fark.

Those look like fun sites if you like to alter photos, but I don't
work with photos much. I'm looking for a site for people who use GIMP
to actually draw and paint. Anyone know of a place like that?
