G1 NM low headphone volume

Just picked a used Nord Modular rack.  It is awesome so far, but I one question.  I also have a NL2X.  I notice a significant difference between the headphone volume between the two.  The NM has to be turned up over halfway to hear well.  At 1/4 way, it's pretty much silent on most patches.  This isn't a big problem but I'm wondering if this is normal?

The volume you hear will depend somewhat on the sensitivity and impedance of
your headphones. I have not had a problem getting good headphone level out
of the NM, but it is usually necessary to turn the output level control past
12 o'clock.

I cannot comment on the headphone output level of the NM compared to the
NL2X. I seem recall that the NM has some built in headroom in its output
module so it does not distort when add polyphony to a patch. Try enabling
the buttons in the output module that add a level boost.

I just took a moment to comapre my NM1 and G2 headphone levels. I did notice
the G2 has more volume.
I could have the volume turned full on the NM1 and still have my headphones
on, with the G2 I cannot put full volume with headphones as I will cause
some damage to my ears!

I also tried different patches with different sounds.
I never really notice a volume difference from the audio outputs (good so!)

Still, both are wonderful machines (together even more :-))

Rgrds.
Nuriel.

Not all the Patches have the same output level. It's hard to compare. There is a difference between using just one Oscillator and a BPF and 12 Oscillators and no Filter at all, even when setting the Output module to the max...

Agreed.  When putting patches together for a live performance, to keep a consistent volume level to prevent the soundman from playing with the fader all night, the difference in volume I have to set on the output module for some patches is as much as 30 increments.
