First time submission as far as I know.  There was a code review of a earlier proposed patch for this defect earlier this week that was rejected.

Thanks,
Joanna

Perhaps I missed something, but I saw these same code changes in a previously approved defect in the last week. Is this a resubmission of the change request or a copying of the code or...?

It is marked as a regression. but I didn't see any mention of that in the bugzilla.

Thanks for your time.

[tptp-pmc] Request for approval for defect 243431

I would like to request that the following defect be approved for 4.5.1 so that we can get it into today's candidate build:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=243431 - IAC cannot start on Linux all-in-one

1. Explain why you believe this is a stop-ship defect. How does the defect manifest itself, and how will users of TPTP / consuming products be affected if the defect is not fixed?

IAC cannot be started on Linux

2. Is there a work-around? If so, why do you believe the work-around is insufficient?
No.

3. Is this a regression or API breakage? Explain.

yes

4. Does this require new API?
No.

5. Who performed the code review?
Jonathan West and Eugene Chan. (Patch created by Bing Xu)

6. Is there a test case attached to the bugzilla record?

Covered by existing testcase

7. What is the risk associated with this fix?
Low.

8. Is this fix related to any standards that TPTP adheres to? If so, who has validated that the fix continues to adhere to the standard?
No

The link in the request actually links to the wrong defect: 235611, it shows 243431 but links to 235611.
The link should be https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=243431.

looking deeper, the wrong link is in the request. So when I followed it and looked at the patch I actually did see the same patch, because the link was to the same defect....\

We need to be more careful about these things. The whole point of having these templates is to streamline the review process and have a good archive of the change process. Wrong links kinda defeat the purpose, and perhaps imply they aren't being followed when the reviews are happening...

Thanks for your time.
