Freezing titles row or column

Someone has asked about this on the forum.  I cannot find any method of "freezing" a row or column so that it remains in view no matter how far you scroll from it?

Will the feature exist in version 2.0 and is there a workaround in version 1.6?

the only ultra ugly solution is to split the window and scroll the other.

as of now, dont think so.
