Feeds; update after edit; link to Nabble, etc.Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to make the feed posts so that they update after someone edits a post. I think Blogger's feeds are like this (but I'm not entirely sure). A link to view the post on Nabble, from the feed post, would also be extremely helpful. Anyway, also, I'm curious about something I mentioned before: Let's say I subscribe to the feed of a parent forum, and I get posts from the children. Can I have something in the feed post saying which child forum the post was in? This would be rather helpful as it's sometimes difficult to know what people are talking about without this. Thanks for all your hard work! Do well! |

Re: Feeds; update after edit; link to Nabble, etc.I think you mean setting the "update" date correctly in the feed, which we don't quite do correctly. We will fix this, but it will take some time. We do supply this. For example: http://www.nabble.com/Nabble-Support-f1.xml Where do you suggest putting this so that the feed reader would pick it up? |

Actually, I meant the message itself. Like after someone edits a post, you can see the changes take place on your feed. I don't know if this is possible after the message is downloaded, but I know it is beforehand. As it is now, I think the message one gets is generally the first version. Blogger does do it, I've found. I'm not sure how, though. Nabble might do it as well, to some extend, but I haven't checked into this much, but if so, it's significantly faster with Blogger for some odd reason. Perhaps fixing the date thing would also fix this problem. It's not a huge issue, though; actually very small (getting already downloaded messages would be a much bigger issue, though, if it were possible). > Where do you suggest putting this so that the feed reader would pick it up? I don't know anywhere to suggest, to be honest. I'm not very familiar with how feeds function internally. Can't it just be inputted as if it were part of the post, somehow, tagged on the beginning or the end? >> A link to view the post on Nabble, from the feed post, would also be extremely helpful. > We do supply this. For example: Hmm, I can see it in the XML, but it doesn't show up in Thunderbird (2.0.0.6), in the posts downloaded. Is there a way to remedy this? Is it supposed to show up in Thunderbird? Thanks for the responses! |

Re: Feeds; update after edit; link to Nabble, etc.I hope so. I will post here when the date is fixed and you can let me know if this problem goes away. Okay, I will add a link to the forum to the bottom of the post body. I checked Google Reader: http://www.google.com/reader/ The link shows up there. So I think this is a problem with Thunderbird. |
