what the underlying cause was. If I want to make a live games DVD using
livecd-creator and the games kickstart file (possibly with some changes)
should I expect problems?

Hi all,

if you are a games packager or have a general interest in FLOSS
games, let me point you to games@...

The Debian and Ubuntu games teams have merged completely
and I've been working together with them to reduce duplicated work.
We have been using the Debian games mailing list until now, but we decided that
a distro-agnostic would be better.

As Games are somewhat special in that they in general need more patches then
usual packages and that they often have a dead upstream, we plan to discuss
some ways there to try and collaborate more on the front of games.

So to everyone interested, please subscribe!

Hi,

I know a couple of people expressed interest in the games spin. I can't
work on it and fix any issues before the Fedora 10 release time. If you
would like to, do take a look.

Rahul

The Developer and Games spin both fail to compose due to missing
packages. They will not be shipped as part of Fedora 10 Preview, and
run the risk of not being part of Fedora 10.

I thought I'd let you know that my 'freedink' package was recently
approved and the 'testing' build just hit the F-8/F-9 mirrors :)

FreeDink(.org) is a port of the Dink Smallwood game and game
engine/editor.
It's a 2D action/adventure/rpg game (somewhat similar to Zelda
classic), where you save the world and kill ducks :)
There are also more than a hundred add-ons (Dink Modules or D-Mods for
one of the two.

I recommend adding airports5 and airports4 playfields
by using the using the airports playfield with `update = 5;'
and `update = 4;' lines respectively.

And yes, even in the days of World of Warcraft, I still
enjoy a game of ATC every now and then.

Do you need me to sign something for OHare and airports
so that there is never again a question of origin and license?
> that autodownloader only downloads in 8K increments. This thing would
> literally need to run all day to pull down these content files. Is that
> expected behavior?
>

I think the 8k increments are not how it is downloading, but the
increment when the callback I use to update the progress bar gets
called. If you actually notice that it is not multithreaded but using a
callback from a single download thread, then the connection and / or
mirror you are using is, erm, not so good.

I had this with the id-shareware stuff to when using the official id
site, after finding some fast mirrors things where ok.

Hello!
I have tried the supertux-0.3 package in F10. When you start in fullscreen mode, the mouse pointer soon freeze at its current coordinates, which defaults to the center of the screen. It then stays there and obscures the real content of the window, while there's a new functional pointer created. The only workaround is to quickly after startup move the pointer to any lower corner, so there's only a few pixels of it visible.
Do you know if this is a known bug of supertux, or if it's more likely a problem with my X setup?
>
> I took over this package when another maintainer went AWOL, so this is
> as news to me as it is to you. Hans: if you can offer some help, I'd
> cvs?
>

Just take a look at how bolzplatz2006 does it, basicly there is a shell
script which invokes autodownloader if the files are not there yet and a
 autodownloader config file.

Let me know if you have any questions.
> then I can get my ideas roling.
>

You can find the blobwars source here:
http://www.parallelrealities.co.uk/download.php?proj=blobwars&file=blobwars-1.09b2-1.tar.gz&type=zip

> I don't know what mod tracker music is, and I can only do music in wave
> or mp3 format, I will need to give it someone else for conversion.
>

modtracker music uses samples, together with information when to play which
simple at which pitch (and volume) to create music, it was very popular in the
amiga days, and on gravis ultrasound cards.

Regards,

Hans

Hi,

Some time ago, I wanted to package [1] a fork of the Python library
Soya3D called PySoy [2]. They were releasing it under GPLv3 until now,
but they have relicensed it as AGPLv3 [3] right now. We have had a
debate in debian-legal [4] about the possible consecuences of
accepting AGPLv3 as DFSG-free [5] and, even though it's not totally
closed, it seems that we won't be able to consider it free. Of course
the final decision is to be made by ftpmasters and they haven't
answered yet [6].

According to Arc, main developer for PySoy, Mark Shuttleworth believes
in the freeness of AGPLv3, so they will have all that stuff in their
Ubuntu universe/main repositories, even though the MOTU (Masters Of
The Universe, the Ubuntu team that manages universe/multiverse
repositories) doesn't seem to think the same. It makes sense that
Ubuntu considers that because my feeling is that Ubuntu and FSF are
getting along really well and very close to each other.

In any case, i wanted to know, mostly out of curiosity, what is the
point of view about Fedora regarding AGPLv3, and whether you consider
it free or not.

Thanks and greetings,
users interacting with it remotely through a computer network (if your
version supports such interaction) an opportunity to receive the
Corresponding Source of your version by providing access to the
standard or customary means of facilitating copying of software"

> Hi all,
>
> As some of you probably already know a few blender artists and
> crystalspace
> developers have been working fulltime on this new completely FREE (both
> art and
> code) game called Apricot:
>
> They are now almost done and are looking for people to package it up for
> various distro's. I've offered todo that, but I'm currently suffering from
> a
> serious -ENOTIME situation, so I was hoping there are other people here
> who are
> willing to pick this up. If you do you can mail me for help any time!
>
> Apricot uses crystalspace and needs a special svn snapshot, you do not
> need to
> worry about parallel installability with the regular crystalspace, as that
> has
> no users in Fedora so you can just upgrade the current crystalspace
> package to
> the "blessed" svn snapshot:
>
> Apricot also uses CEL, same story:
>
> For apricot itself just use the latest svn.

Looks cool. I don't think I have the time for something quite that
involved right now, although I may try later if no one else does.

Interesting timing, I just posted a review request for apricots, a 2D air
combat game, nothing like this game in any way. :)

> Thanks & Regards,
>
> Hans
