This feature may be wanted for different kinds of files used by different programs, so it is not at all KMyMoney2-specific and KMyMoney2 should not attempt to create its own implementation. Maybe it could use KWallet? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ KMyMoney2-developer mailing list KMyMoney2-developer@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/kmymoney2-developer |

Re: Feature requestCelio,
you have the option to use GPG to encrypt your file. That way, you will have to enter your passphrase when you want to open the file. Just save it as encrypted and select your private key and you are good to go. Is that what you were looking for? Yes, but KWallet would just store a password not the data itself. We did not want to implement our own encryption/decryption algorithm to simply avoid its weakness from the start on. That's where our GPG encryption comes into play (which even allows you to store the data on public accessible servers for backup purposes) -- Regards Thomas Baumgart GPG-FP: E55E D592 F45F 116B 8429 4F99 9C59 DB40 B75D D3BA ------------------------------------------------------------- "I'd like to buy Windows."
