FastCGI and IIS

Hello members of the list !

I'm willing to migrate my http server, which has been WebSite (from OReilly), to IIS.

I need to use the FastCGI protocol cause on the other side, I have a FastCGI server that has been written on my own.

Have tried Lighty but, there's no native version of it. Even it's CYGWIN version is pretty unstable under Windows.

Apache, as a general rule, works. Except that I can not map (alias) to files on a NetWare drive. And this is a must for me.

So, I'm thinking about IIS.

Someone else could tell us :
  • Yes, I use it. Pretty reliable and stable. It runs OK.
  • No, forget it.
On the other hand, should you purpose another http server, no problem. What I need is :
  • Need to run under W2K.
  • SSL
  • FastCGI protocol compatible, of course
  • Capable of dealing of a demand that reaches 300K transactions per day, all of them with SSL.
Thanks !

Use Apache http server.

I can't use Apache cause as I said before, it doesnt map (alias) to Novell Netware Drives. That's essential for me.

Other than that, I could use Apache.

But I really prefer Lighty. Way, way better than Apache, I think. But it doesnt have a native version yet.

See ya.

In Portuguese :

Thiago:

Take a look at
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Servers/Apache/Q_21550062.html,
that could fix your problem.
