FS: OM 50mm f/1.2I'd like to sell an OM 50mm f/1.2 to make back some of the money I just spent on a Nikon D700. I bought this lens brand new last year and have maintained it in excellent condition. Please see this listing for the details -> http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/666415/0?keyword=zuiko#5947967 Asking price for list members is $410 shipped and PayPal'd. Re: FS: OM 50mm f/1.2Yeah, reasonable and recommended (I still have one of yours, Bill). Tom 2008/7/14 <NSURIT@...>: > > Seems semi-reasonable to me. What says the rest of the crowd? Bill Barber Bill, As the seller, I am obviously biased, but I hope you don't mind me responding with the rest of the crowd. I recognize that this isn't the lowest asking price. I recall someone selling two of these for $300 each on list, which I thought was an extremely good price. To be frank, I'd rather continue to use and enjoy the lens than sell it at that good of a price. I chose a number based on what I paid, what I generally see them go for, and what it's worth to me to keep the lens. I've uploaded high res photos of the lens to my Flickr account here -> http://www.flickr.com/photos/asabet/sets/72157606171474833/detail/ For those not familiar with Flickr, click on the image, then "All sizes", then "Original" to view at largest size. I suppose you are right that the 50/1.4 hits the value sweet spot between the f/1.8 and the f/1.2 versions. The 50/1.2 is remarkably compact for an f/1.2 lens, so size wasn't a compelling reason for me to choose the f/1.4 lens. Having not owned the 50/1.4, I can only say that I have been very impressed with the performance of the 50/1.2. Some day I'll buy another copy of this lens. Right now I've got a sale pending with this one, and I will miss it. two threads - one emailI saw recently and email about taking pictures of a pond at different
times and the discussions of the 7-14mm which is my most used lens at the moment. so here is a picture of our very nearly completed swim pond (some of you will remember this) taken with the 7-14mm. http://thattimeoflife.smugmug.com/gallery/4685260_iEgiA#330935407_emR4c-A-LB I had to face reality and get a firm to put the liner in and they redid the w(hole) thing, I was disappointed that I couldn't complete the project myself but we are very pleased with the result. It will take a while for the plants to establish but it looks good now. The company was excellent - its a shame the people working on our house extension didn't have the same attitude to care and quality IanW ============================================== List usage info: http://www.zuikoholic.com List nannies: olympusadmin@... ============================================== |

Re: two threads - one emailVery interesting. What keeps the water clean in a closed system without
chlorine as would be used in a conventional swimming pool? The plants? Re: two threads - one emailHmm, strange I posted this reply yesterday, but it never appeared on the
list - I am not so confident using gmail. Yes, it sort of works like a big fish aquarium. though fish are not allowed It was started in Austria I believe, you can read more here, if it comes up with the german page you can switch to English, although if you can read german there is more information on the german pages http://www.biotop-natural-pool.com/ IanW Chuck Norcutt wrote: > Very interesting. Re: two threads - one emailBrilliant! It's a "living machine" you can swim in. An artificial wetland. Very cool. I have a client I talked out of doing a pool because of the issues with chlorine, energy use, etc. This could be an interesting option. I wonder if anyone is doing it in the States. They don't have "partners" here yet, it doesn't appear. Thanks! Re: two threads - one emailThere is still a lot of air borne dirt that enters a pool. I assume
that this still requires vacuuming like a more conventional pool? Chuck Norcutt Rob Harrison wrote: > Brilliant! It's a "living machine" you can swim in. An artificial > wetland. Very cool. Re: two threads - one emailWe didn't want a clinically clean pool but saying that it should stay
clear once equilibrium has been met. I think the swimming area will need periodic vacuuming, and it does have a pump blowing air into the water to aireate and also a skimmer to remove the leaves etc. but other than that it should require less maintenance than a pool and we can iceskate on it in the winter :-) Chuck Norcutt wrote: > There is still a lot of air borne dirt that enters a pool.
