Hi,

RC1 is coming up, so if you want to release together with KDE, please check if the config file is ok.

I'll build the tarballs wednesday evening.

Best,

Toma

Tom,

digiKam 0.10.0-beta1 is ready to be publish. It can be released at the
same time than rc1. What we need to do ?

Hi,

You seem to have released it already.

And why not publishing the current code (0.10.0-beta2) with KDE4. This
will increase publishing of program and simplify the like to users who
want to test...

The extragear release project aims for making tarballs, creating a place for them for users to download and to save time for maintainers organizing a release. All three items have already been done by you. There is nothing to do for Digikam...

There was some talk of releasing the latest-stable-version of an
Extragear app with a KDE release. Since this is a beta release and
Digikam will still be beta by 4.1 I'd guess, this probably isn't a
good example of this. :)

But the basic principal of releasing already-produced tarballs with a
KDE release as a form of promotion might make sense in other
instances. (Eg Digikam and Amarok with 4.2)

Yes, and i add that we need a single extragear dir, not based on release, but
where we update newer releases ( already produced or not ) or remove not
suitable anymore.
In any new kde launch, we add in the announce that keg apps x,y,z is available
to consumption as well :-)

Yes, please.
The distributions don't seem to include for example kpovmodeler from
previous releases of the extragear module. I had some users complaining
about that.
I think the reason is that these releases where never published on the
kde release announcements. You had to go the ftp download page, and
surprise, there was a directory called extragear with some more
applications.

Andreas

I remember kpovmodeler requiring a Qt version that was not yet released or just released. I bet that's the real reason.

I've mailed the packagers each time up to now, so they are for sure aware of the location of the tarball.

Yeah. We also don't mention Ark in the release announcements. We should make a complete list of all applications each time.

On a more serious note, if you want it to be in the release announcement you can ask the MWG (sebas for example) to include a piece for your application. I'm pretty sure you get bonus points if you provide a piece of text.
