Hello,
I have a Philips DVDR 1668 (lightscribe)  DVD writer in an IDE to USB
external case. Althogh this DVD writer is recognized by Roxio Easy CD
Creator v6, and Nero v.6, it is not recognized by EAC.
Why and what can I do ?

Thanks in advance.

Elif

Is it recognized as a reader, but not as a writer? In that case, you may
need a later version of EAC. If recognized as a reader in Windows but
not by EAC, you have a most unusual problem.

Note that identifying the version of EAC you use and a bit more
information than "not recognized" would make it easier for us to assist.

Thanks for your reply. I tried both versions of EAC. (v.95 and 99)
Still not recognized by EAC.
But it is recognized by Windows XP.

This problem arose after I changed the motherboard.
My motherboard is MSI P6N Platinum. Former motherboard was ASUS CUV
4X and there was no problem with Asus motherboard when I use the same
DVD writer in the same external case.

Thanks and best wishes,
Elif

Does the usual procedure of changing the interface parameter of EAC
work? (Switch from native to ASPI or vice-versa).
Sorry I'don't have EAC under my fingers now, and I don't remember exact
path. But it should be under EAC options...

My problem has been solved by FEDERICO QUADRI's suggestion: From EAC
Options, and "USE OF SCSI INTERFACE" I switched from the
default "INSTALLED EXTERNAL ASPI INTERFACE" to "NATIVE WIN 32
INTERFACE FOR WIN NT/2000/XP". Now my external DVD writer has been
recognized.
Many thanks to FEDERICO QUADRI and to other EAC members.

Best wishes,
Elif
