Exporting Descendents and Families.

I'm building a web site from part of my family tree. To do this I'm
using a program I've written which processes a Gedcom file. I store all
of my data in Gramps (currently using 2.2.10 as that's what is included
with Fedora).

The part of the tree that I want is all of the descendants of a
particular person. That's simple to do as Gramps allows me to export
exactly that as a Gedcom file.

But having done that and generated the web pages from the Gedcom, it all
looks a bit sparse. The problem is that I get no complete families (as
it's quite rare for two descendants to marry).

So it seems that what I really want, is a way to export all descendants
of a particular person plus all of their spouses. Another way to look at
it is that I want all descendants along with both of their parents.

I'm sure I did this once before, but I can't remember how I did it, or
what software I used.

Has anyone done this before? Am I missing a simple option in Gramps?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave...

Dave

Try the 'Descendant family members of' filter option under the
Descendant filters. It "Matches people that are descendants or the
spouse of a descendant of a specified person".

Tony,

Many thanks. That looks like exactly what I want.

Cheers,

Dave...

Hey Dave, why not write your little app to parse the GRAMPS XML file?
Someone already has an XSL stylesheet thingy which helps do that. WHo
was that?
