Escaping in blog posts

I use the plain text editor and xmlrpc to edit my (self-hosted) FluxCMS
blog, and just discovered that ampersands in input require escaping
(each time an entry is edited). I understand the nature of it being XML
everywhere makes certain requirements, but from a user point of view,
this is unexpected behaviour.

Are there any clean ways of filtering input so ampersands (when in
non-wysiswyg mode) pass through untouched?

looks like a bug, yes, the problem is most likely, that the & are
correctly within <textarea> but the browser "unescapes" them.

We will look into it
