Eraseble smart cardHello,
i'm developing an application that use smart card. I have bought a siemens with card os smart card and i discoverd that aftert initialization it cannot be erased or reinitialized.
I would like to do tests with a smart card that let do initialization (and erase) many times (like pkcs15-init -E ).
Which card let do that?
Thank you very much

Hi, How did you initialized your card? Which application did you use for that? "test" versions of starcos cards can do that - but make sure you get a test card! normal cards can't be ever deleted, which is very annoying. schlumberger/axalto/gemalto cryptoflex cards are absolute great for your purpose! unfortunatly they no longer sell those cards. there are a number of java cards with specific applets that opensc supports, but I don't know them well. always make sure you have the right version of the card and the right applet, as only specific combinations work with opensc. I don't know much more about these cards, so I can't recomment them myself, but maybe someone else can give hints? many other cards we list are not fully supported - check each wiki page for details. only very few cards have a full driver, that can initialized a blank card, and even later erase it. so I'm out of luck right now myself. sorry. Re: Eraseble smart cardHi,
I've tested a Axalto Cyberflex 64k running the muscle applet. It is working but there are some differences. * The PIN/PUK stuff must be handled by muscletool, OpenSC PIN/PUKs don't seem to get used. * The PIN/PUK retry behaviour is different, as muscle cards are different But you can easly erase the card...
