Ekiga and VoipCheapI'm trying to configure Ekiga in order to use my VoipCheap account. The problem I get when testing sound through the Configuration Druid is: Failed to open the device Impossible to open the selected audio device (HDA Intel) for playing. Please check your audio setup, the permissions and that the device is not busy. I tried to end the 'pulseaudio' process and I'm do able to perform audio tests. I can hear my voice at a very low level even if my mic level is at top. Moreover Ekiga hangs when pressing the OK button to stop sound tests. Thanks for your time. Manolo. Ubuntu Desktop is a "meta package and there are few times I've removed things and it has removed that one with no detrimental effects. Obviously YMMV but a quick google will show you what I mean: "ubuntu-desktop (just like kubuntu-desktop and others) is a metapackage, meaning that it doesn't contain anything but depends on many other packages. (but not other package depends on it). So installing ubuntu-desktop will install Gnome and all apps that are in the default Ubuntu desktop, but removing the ubuntu-desktop package will not remove anything else than the metapackage. Metapackages are often used to install groups of packages in easy way." Re: Ekiga and VoipCheapThat's just as you said "It shouldn't". I just wrote what really happened to me and it was not a wanderful experience.
