I've uploaded a new .deb package based upon the CVS HEAD that should
fix the problems seen in Ubuntu Gutsy. I'm currently posting from a
lg3d session...
The file can be downloaded from here (or go to the Documents and Files
on lg3d-core.dev.java.net and under the builds directory)
https://lg3d-core.dev.java.net/files/documents/1834/84267/lg3d-core_1.0.1_dev_i686.deb

So if you have an old install do a:
dpkg --purge lg3d-core lg3d-jdk lg3d-java3d

Then do a
dpkg -i lg3d-core_1.0.1_dev_i686.deb

If you can test this out, that would be great!

Note however that it is NOT a 64 bit version - you would need to use
the linux32 chroot environment to run it... if it does. I don't have a
64 bit system to test on, but it should work if someone can build it
(the CVS HEAD now has all the fixes in it).

Thanks
Kirk

I'm not sure if this will work because I haven't played around on a 64
bit machine much, but you will need to install the 32 bit versions of
java, and then you might be able to run lg3d using the linux32
chroot....
e.g. from the console
1. sudo aptitude remove sun-java6-jdk
(this should remove the 64 bit version of java)
2. linux32 sudo aptitude install sun-java6-jdk
3. dpkg -i lg3d-core-*.deb
4. linux32 /usr/shared/lg3d/bin/lg3d-app

That said Amir has been working on getting the 64 bit version working
(there are some issues with the Xserver), so that will be the easier
option in the long run.

I have just started working with Looking Glass and I am getting this same error. I did a megabundle install and got this error and then did a Netbeans build and get this error when I do 'ant run-app-script' and I get the same error. I am running a 32 bit version of Ubuntu 8.04. I have been running Wonderland in this environment so I know Looking Glass will run.

What does this error mean? How do I resolve it?
