Well, maybe look at Java Generics. While generics improved Java a lot,
it was still basically done wrong and rtti about generic types is not
preserved. Also look at the complex rules for the strange cases (which
I think people avoid in practice).
However, this would all be an academic/intellectual argument, and I
have found this approach to be quite ineffective in the past. Oh well.
