Eclipse plugin: running FB automatically only for incremental builds

Hello,

Eclipse supports full builds and incremental builds: full builds build
the entire project, but when you save a single file it gets built
seperately ('incrementally').

When configuring the FindBugs plugin to 'run automatically', it will run
for both full and incremental builds.

In my experience, running FindBugs automatically on incremental builds is
incredibly useful. Running automatically for full builds, however, is
resource-intensive and slows down development too much.

It would be useful to be able to configure the plugin to run FindBugs
automatically for incremental builds, but not for full builds.

About 1.5 year ago, I submitted a patch that introduces this option
(http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1703418&group_id=96405&atid=614696).

About 1 year ago, the findbugs codebase had changed, and I created a new
patch that introduces this option, which applied to then-current SVN
again
(http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1703418&group_id=96405&atid=614696).

Since then, nothing really has happened, except that recently several
people have been asking about the status of the inclusion of this patch.

I would love to see this functionality included - hopefully before or
soon after the upcoming release.

Let me know what I can do to help.

Kind regards,

Arnout

Hi Arnout,

unfortunately FB SF project site is configured in a strange way, so that
not all developers (or nobody?) receives messages about new bugs &
patches. I didn't noticed you patch until today. I will look at it and
will try to integrate it.

Great, I see some changes have been committed, I'll try to test it soon!

Ok, so the recommended thing to do is posting to this mailinglist
instead of opening a tracker item?

I noticed the 'Browse source' link on findbugs.sf.net still points to
http://findbugs.cvs.sourceforge.net/findbugs rather than
http://findbugs.googlecode.com/svn/trunk - is that intentional?

Kind regards,

Arnout
