This is a current bug, see,

I should check this fix in this week to the 1.1 stream. In the mean time, you can set the profiler using a SessionCustomizer.

Changing the logging level has no effects - what I'm missing? I'm wondering that there isn't a entry for property "eclipselink.profiler" in the log as it will be for each of the other property entries - may be this could be a hint, that there is something wrong with my configuration ... for now I'm helpless.

There is no query hint to do this, feel free to log an enhancement request for this.

You can configure this using the ReadAllQuery code API.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you mean perhaps give an example.

Assuming you want to set the fetch size of the nested batch queries, there
is no easy way to do this. However you could prepare() your query, then
access the getBatchReadMappingQueries() that are generated to customize any
of the nested batch queries.

API tooling is already set up for the plugins 'org.eclipse.cdt.core' and 'org.eclipse.cdt.ui'. All you need to do is define

the base-line, which is trivial:

(1) create a directory that contains the cdt 5.0.0 + platform 3.4 plugins (I downloaded the ganymede cpp-package).

(2) In preferences (Plug in Development - API Baselines) define the baseline by pointing to this directory.

Please include the full stack trace for the exception.

In general every JPA provider that I know of does some form of byte-code weaving or dynamic subclass generation (OpenJPA and Hibernate require this). EclipseLink is the only provider that I know of where this is optional, as you can turn weaving off with EclipseLink and still run (lazy relationship just become eager). I have never had any issues with debugging weaved classes, the main issues is getting it to work in environments that don't let you use an agent, but for these cases you can use static weaving.

Is this true of other persistence providers? I don't recall ever having to use it for the original TopLink implementation in Java EE. I don't believe it's required for OpenJPA or Hibernate, either. Weaving seems to me to be a serious problem for developers, since it modifies original code, with who-knows-what side affects, and makes debugging practically impossible.

Maybe it's a Spring thing?

One of the biggest problems ist, that the pde-maven-plugin supports
building of a product ok,
But there is no easy way to build several plugins which depend on each
other. I have to manage the dependencies twice and even then the build
is quite erratic.

I would really like to use the tycho plugin build process which
utilized the manifest to validate my plugins even thought I do not
need the build results (jar etc) but the successful/failed state for
each plugin project would be quite useful in a larger project setup!

The thing with the newer versions: Do you mean with 2.1 3.0 or the
next release on the 2.0.9 line?
Ok it does not really matter any way: I will be able to force both
into our build process but only if they are official releases and
after they have proven their maturity.
This means for the moment 2.0.9 at most!

P.S: The helping thing :-) Well if I could use tycho in my current
project setup I would certainly help ;-) Otherwise I have to follow
the dev env how-to an look how easy it is to contribute to your
project. But I can imagine to help because for the first time it looks
like a real solution. (And because I can not always complain about the
immaturity of maven and the eclipse integration of it an doing nothing
about it :-))

The error seems to be caused, because it cannot find the persistence.xml file. I think it needs to be in a META-INF directory under your info path, "/src/conf", is it there? You could also try just putting it in META-INF under the source. You might get some more info if you set logging to finest.

Build failing

Is the 1.1 build currently failing? Didn't see the Eclipse build fail since 10-3, but the Oracle nightly failed to compile?

I'm trying to build after updating but get compile errors in the MW,

EclipseLink Performance Profiler configuration

I want to use the EclipseLink Performance Profiler. Following the configuration instructions in the docs my settings in the persistence.xml are as follows but I don't see any profiling output in my log.

<property name="eclipselink.logging.session" value="false" />
<property name="eclipselink.logging.thread" value="false" />

<property name="eclipselink.profiler" value="PerformanceProfiler" />

Changing the logging level has no effects - what I'm missing? I'm wondering that there isn't a entry for property "eclipselink.profiler" in the log as it will be for each of the other property entries - may be this could be a hint, that there is something wrong with my configuration ... for now I'm helpless.

Note that the C/C++ Project view not only shows C/C++ projects.

I assume your project is a "General" Eclipse project.
You can try to convert it to a C/C++ project using
File > New > Convert to C/C++ Make project.

Do you have an account on build.eclipse.org? If not, please email Denis (webmaster@...) and request one.

The build.log should be in downloads/tools/ptp/builds/2.1.0/I.I200810XXXXXX (or downloads/tools/ptp/builds/2.1.0/latest which should be a link to the latest build). Check that the log has BUILD SUCCESSFUL for both the PTP and RDT builds.

If you need to run another build, checkout the org.eclipse.ptp.releng project and copy the "ptpbuild" script to your home directory on build.eclipse.org. Then run the command "sh ptpbuild 2.1.0".

Hi all, A few things about the build status. Since there were no objections, I'm assuming that the 200810011851 build is now M4. I'll run a build tonight which will be the M5 candidate. Also, my laptop has to go in for repairs on Thursday (I will be off the air possibly until Tuesday), so I will not have any way of checking the status of the RC1 build on Friday. If someone else could check the log file, add a link to the wiki, and kick of another build if necessary it would be appreciated. Is there a way to enable the API tooling by default. To be honest I haven't looked at the API tooling yet so am a complete newbie. Maybe at the next conf call we can get a demo/introduction to it?

Please enable API tooling to catch such errors by yourself.

To make the tooling work in your workspace, you need to define a baseline:
Preferences - Plugin Development - API Baselines.

You can use any installation with CDT 5.0 installed, I use the Ganymede CDT-package.

Michael,

Tycho depends on some new functionality that was added (and is being
added) to maven 3.0 specifically to support alternative project model
formats and repository layouts. It will not be possible to
"mechanically" backport tycho to work with earlier maven versions, and
some features may not be possible to backport at all.

At the same time, if you can explain what specific tycho features you
want to use, we might be able to suggest something. Especially if you're
willing to help ;-).

Also, do you know if you will be able to use newer maven 2.x versions
(i.e. the new 2.1, 2.2, etc)?

If I would have looked more closely I would have noticed that it was my platform zip that had the problem. (And that file didn't change, so the problem must be local to my system).
