1. How do you close a view, such as the edit view or problems view, using keyboard commands? 2. How do you open more than one edit view at a time? 3. How do you get to the toolbar using keyboard commands? 4. In Eclipse help I can get to: workbench users guide getting started basic tutorial this tutorial provides ... But I cannot get to the actual tutorial. How do you get to the tutorial. Thanks in advance for your help. =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to listserv@... and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA-ACCESS". [ROS] You open a new edit view every time you open an item from the Package Explorer. You can cycle through the open edit windows with F6 and shift F6 just like F7 and shift F7 cycle through views. 3. How do you get to the toolbar using keyboard commands? [ROS] Which tool bar? There seem to be a lot of them. Perhaps you mean the context menus? -- applications key or shift+F10. 4. In Eclipse help I can get to: workbench users guide getting started basic tutorial this tutorial provides ... But I cannot get to the actual tutorial. How do you get to the tutorial. [ROS] I'm using an older version (3.1.2) on this machine, and my help screen does not look like your description. One trick to try is pressing enter on the item you want, and then if nothing happens, try pressing F6 to toggle back and forth between the contents and the actual help text. Thanks in advance for your help. Re: Eclipse Questions> 1. How do you close a view, such as the edit view or problems view,
> using keyboard commands? alt+- for view menu, c for close > 2. How do you open more than one edit view at a time? Every time you open a file, it will get added to the edit ring. use ctrl+f6 to cycle among open edit windows. This works like alt+tab in windows unless you check the following preference which will cause a list view to pop up that you can navigate with the arrow keys: window>preferences>general>Keep next/previous part dialog open > 3. How do you get to the toolbar using keyboard commands? In most views, you just tab to it. In the editor, I don't know. But, I have never needed or wanted to use the toolbar buttons in the editor as there are efficient ways to do everything without it. In fact, I rarely use toolbar buttons in any view. > 4. Eclipse QuestionsFor JAWS users, how do you detect errors in the code? E.g., when there is a
syntax error on the line, I understand Eclipse shows an icon at typing-time and a tip/suggestion can be displayed. Is there a way to access this on the fly? Thanks. =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to listserv@... and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVA-ACCESS".
