Earth zoom to city street

Hey all, I know there's been quite a few of you who've either done demo's, tutorials or even projects where by you zoom in from outer space and use Google imagery/api's etc.

I'm a total noob and haven't even looked into doing this and I have a client that wants to produce something like this.  I was wondering if anyone has any links, api's, information, tutorials or who'd be willing to share the "how to's" of this already done area of PV3D stuff?
