Good news! A tentative schedule for the Fall 2008 Sakai Conference at
Virginia Tech (November 11 12) is now available, along with other
conference information, at
http://bugs.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/MGT/Virginia+Tech+Regional+Conference+2008
As hoped, we were fortunate to receive a number of excellent proposals which
focus on two general themes: 1) pedagogy and instructional strategies
supported by Sakai, and 2) migration/adoption strategies. Subthemes include
positioning Sakai as a platform for new pedagogies, student engagement,
ePortfolio, and assessment. Attendees of this conference can also expect to
hear discussions on faculty development, user support, marketing Sakai
within a legacy scenario, diffusion strategies, and building support for
change.
Early bird registration is still open, and you can register now at
https://educonference.com/sakai/virginiaTech/Important Registration Information: If you register for the conference
prior to October 13, you qualify for the early-bird discount of $125 for
members and $175 for non-members. After that date, the rates will increase
to $150 for members and $200 for non-members. Remember that the cut-off
date for hotel reservations at the guaranteed Sakai rate of $129/night is
also Monday, October 13, 2008. To make your reservation, call the hotel
directly at (540) 231-8000 or toll-free at (877) 200-3360. Be sure to ask
for the VT Sakai Foundation Fall Conference room block.
If you have any questions about the conference, do not hesitate to ask. We
look forward to seeing you in Blacksburg.
