EOS New Canon Digital Body MentionSomeone on dpReview spotted this first, but anyway.
In the June 2005 issue of the UK magazine Photography Monthly is the start of their Photographer of the Year 2005 competition. This runs from now until December 2005. The overall prize described as a "Canon outfit worth £2,500!" No further details are given, except: "The camera outfit has not yet been officially announced, so we're unable to tell you what it is! But you can be sure that if you win, you'll be using the latest kit." As the list price for the 20D is £1270, and the prize will presumably include a lens, this may be the mythical 3D, or at least a tweener of some sort. Cheers Keith -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Interesting. AP usually offer accessories as well as the camera, maybe a lens or two, maybe a printer. I think it may well be a 30D. Or it could just be a 350D and 50mm f/1.4, 17-40 f/4 and 70-200 f/4. RE: EOS New Canon Digital Body MentionI have to agree I think it would be quite unlikely that one magazine would
have advance notice of Canon introducing a new body several months away. More likely, they *expect* them to do so before the prize becomes payable. I think that it is likely the prize is being offered by Canon and that the wording simply means that Canon have yet to announce the prize. I don't have the magazine to be able to check if it is a Canon sponsored competition though. Re: Re[2]: EOS New Canon Digital Body MentionWhat they often do is to offer a 'budget' of so much to be spent in
Canon equipment. I think we're making too much fuss of it anyway...
