EOS Gray Market Canon 20D

Has anyone had any experience with or knowledge of problems  
associated with buying gray market Canon 20D from sellers who offer  
to drop-ship the camera directly from asia. I know they don't carry a  
Canon USA warranty, but if a camera can be purchased for $1900-$2000,  
is it worth it? How often does a DOA Canon 20D happen?

I don't know about prices in the US, but a 30D is in Europe about
$1400 (Euro 1100) with all warranty on it. You probably mean a 5D, and
it is for around $2200 (official HongKong import), and with 0,5 year
international warranty (from Canon-HongKong), so why run the risc?

Am I missing something?  Why would you spend $2000 for
a non-warranty 20D when B&H will sell you a warranteed
30D body for $1050 (after $100 rebate), or a kit with
the 17-85 for $1435?

Huh?

Have you checked B&H, Adorama, or BPAV.com for prices on 20D and 30D?  
For $2000 you can buy a whole lot of stuff from them......

Why go through all the trouble of guying like you are asking about when
it costs a LOT more?

Isn't that a bit expensive? B&H for instance sell the camera for $1150 -
$100 MIR = $1050. No memory cards (which are cheap) but new warranty.

the ip inquired about 20D or meant some other camera and made a
mistake (lloking from the price quoted)..
