Does anyone remember seeing a photo of a Canon (I believe it was an "R") telephoto lens, made for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.  It looked like a cannon that might be mounted on a naval ship.  If I recall, it was about 5,700mm focal length.  The thing had a pedestal mount and a chair that rotated with the lens.  It coupled to the camera body by a little bellows.

I used to have a B&W picture that came from some web-site (not Canon), but I can't find it right now.

Mr. Bill

I think it was about an f/11 or f/16 catadioptric.

And wasn't there also some Japanese manufacturer doing very high-end
glass telescopes for photo-applications up to 6x7cm format? (much
more quality than needed just for the eye(piece))
(mostly combined with Pentax 6x7 bodies, that have the later/modified
battery-less bulb-exposure capability)

Thought I had that link on my website, but can't find it
anymore....anyone know which brand that was?
