EAC/WMA questionThanks for the help with EAC and LAME. That works fine now. I also
need to encode to WMA from time to time. I am using EAC V0.99 prebeta 1 and have Windows Media Encoder 9 installed on my machine. But when I select EAC Compression options and choose Windows Media instead of MP3/LAME, the application address box and browse button are greyed out so I can't point EAC to find WME9. It allows me to choose additional parameters, bitrate and all the other options, but not point to the directory containing the encoder. Any suggestions? . |

Please forgive me for being simplistic: don't use the 'automatic' compression offered by EAC. Have EAC rip to WAV, then compress as you choose - to WMA or what you will. It's all well and good to change the compression parameters via EAC, but the first time you mistakenly leave the wrong compressor active and have to re-rip the disc you will be cursing that simplicity. The only time you are wasting is that to start the compressor. EAC does not rip to MP3 (or WMA or FLAC); it rips to WAV, then turns on the compressor, then deletes the WAV. If you do that "from time to time" by hand, you will spend little extra effort and have cleaner operation. Mike -- mrichter@... http://www.mrichter.com/ |

Re: EAC/WMA questionThanks for the suggestion, that will be an excellent workaround for
me if I cant get EAC to do this. But the simplicity suits me for now and it seems like it should work by design. So does anyone know, is there actually a way to get EAC to recognise Windows Media Encoder?
