Was this discussed and I just glazed over it? If this is not a repost,
how the hell did we miss this??? Has anyone seen it?

I just figured out what's going on, it was released when I was not
subscribed to 313, I was between e-mail addresses/ISP's, and situating
myself to a new city (Chicago.)

Sorry for reducing the signal to noise ratio.

Or anyone ever see Universal Techno?  It's a 1996 French doc. (English
w/French subtitles)
Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Ken Ishii,
Autechre, lots of great shots of Detroit

forgot to mention shots inside Submerge
part 3 starts with a slamming sound clip from Jeff Mills djing
then you've got clips of Abdul Haqq & Derrick May talking
sci-fi/music/artwork
Derrick May convincing Mad Mike to participate in the film (one hour!)

this series of videos for me is what techno *is*
so far the best doc about techno I've seen

Coincidentally, I bought this the other day, but have
yet to have a chance to watch it. Will report back
when I get a chance.

Was this shot around the time of the Metroplex 10 year aniversiary party?

One of the craziest things I ever saw was Juan bringing these (I thought)
French film makers into the Submerge building that weekend,  watching Mike
kick them out, and overhearing the discussion between Juan and Mike over the
situation.

One of the defining moments of techno for me.

Seriously.

At one point the whole video was on YouTube.  It was
pretty good, but buying a DVD is a waste of money for
me.  It seems when I buy DVDs I don't watch them.  I
still have unopened copies of Forest Gump, Suicide
Kings, all the Lord of the Rings (which I won't watch
anyway...), and more.

i just cant agree. sitting through those movies was physically
painful. i cant believe that anyone likes them, but people seem to be
very entertained by nonsense CGI crapola and midgets with funny ears.
