Delete a project after adding it to CVS problem

1. Create a web project "WebApp" in Netbeans 5.5
2. Add the project to the CVS repository using Import into Repository
3. Delete the project in Netbeans. Select the option to delete from file system too.
4. Physically delete the project folder from the file system
5. Create a web project with the same name again
6. Netbeans still thinks that the project is under CVS !!!

How does one clean the CVS settings for such a scenario ? Any help would be appreciated.
