Can anyone advise the hourly fuel consumption of a DAF 575 engine running  in
a typical luxe-motor of 25 m length at cruising revs of 13-1400 RPM?
I recently delivered such a barge to France and know how much fuel was in
the tank on departure from the UK, but need to know what remained on  arrival.
Thanks, Des Fforde

Des

I tend to reckon on about an hour per gallon for our 575 at 1200RPM
in a small canal to 1700RPM on the Trent tideway which seems to be
the average over a year. Actief is a 1926 Briltil, Groningen-built
luxemotor 22m x 4.2m.
Hope this is of use.

About 5.3l (~1.1 gallons) per hour on a river at medium speed.  This is for
a DAF 475 and 20m barge.  I would expect a longer barge to use less but a
575 more.

Thanks, Euan and David. Your figures correlate very well with my estimate.

For me, around 4-5l/hr at those revs on a 24m Luxemotor on a reasonably wide
and deep canal.
