DTMF Touch Tone Decoder - Pretty Cheap

I have been running MH caller-id for years and always wanted to log outbound calls as well.

Tonight I may have found a replacement for the Weeder DTMF Decoder on eBay with real time serial output (besides storage and some other stuff we don't need) for $27.00 delivered. I don't know if this is a straight Weeder replacement (MH code wise), but I am going to find out. I justified the expense with the logic that I need to replace our land line phone plan but I don't know enough about our outbound call traffic to make an educated choice.

I thought I would pass the possible "find" along to the MH community. The seller has 87 of them left. Search "DTMF Touch Tone Decoder" in ebay for more info. I have nothing to do with the seller.

Later.....

Dan,
I have one of these, and have been using it with mh for several years now. Let me know if you get one of these and want my code.

David,

I will buy one of these for it's functionality in MH...!

Years ago I purchased and assembled another kit (K153). It has an LCD and worked with a microphone, or connected to the phone line. What it could NOT do is detect phone state - Off-hook, or on-hook.

Can your code keep the phone's state correct within MH...?? I have a need...

I want MH to pause my media player (if playing) when a call comes in. This can be done using the NetCallerID...

It would be nice if MH could unpause the media player when the phone state changes from off-hook to on-hook.

THAT WOULD ROCK!!!

With a new release of MH right around the corner, I wonder if it would be asking too much to make your code available for wide release...??

Make it a part of MH...!

While you're at it, do you think you could write a MH wiki for configuring this DTMF logger?

FYI: This is a K164 kit. I received the manual today from that e-Bay seller.

Thanks!

Jack
:)

David, I bought the  decoder Thursday night. I would love your code. I sent you an email with my email. If you can get it into MH that would be good too.

Thanks

Does this gadget have any functionality for decoding DTMF with incoming
calls?  If so, I was wondering if could be connected to an answering
machine.  Then when the answering machine picked up, the caller could
enter sequences of numbers which would be keyed to actuate various home
automation tasks.
