Check for updates fails on 4.3.2 linuc Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64
When I run Check for
Updates on the IDE, it fails with the following Error:
AUS: Update Server Not Found (Check your internet connection or contact your Administrator) My Internet connection is working fine. Error message also points to a URL where you can supposedly download the update. The URL is about as useful as pointing me to disney.com - there are no downloadable files on the page pointed to by the URL. As I try and navigate in the hopes of finding a file I can download, I just get more annoyed because now I am being asked to 'Logon'. So now I have scrounge around for the username/password amongst the 3 Billion other internet username/passwords I am forced to keep. And of course, I can never find it, and I am buggered if I am going to waste time trying to figure out which email address I might get a password sent to. This has to be the most infuriating trend on the internet - registering and having to remember passwords. So here is a big PLEASE - make sure the IDE's 'check for updates' error message 'actually' points to somewhere where the downloadable update file exists and does not require a login with password or registration. I can't figure out my password, and I don't want to register yet again - so where can I find the downloadable 4.4 file? tks ++++++++++++++ $ find ~/.komodoide/4.3/host-plum64 -name "*.log" -exec cat {} \; ERROR: root: Unable to connect mink@plum64 _______________________________________________ Komodo-discuss mailing list Komodo-discuss@... Hope it helps. By the way I use one of those password manages & only have to temember one. passwordsafe, http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/, is a good choice for windows. Re: Check for updates fails on 4.3.2 linuc Ubuntu 8.04 x86_64I got the same error on Ubuntu 8.04 - I found if I ran Komodo with sudo
it was able to upgrade just fine, however the default profile in my home directory then gets created as owned by root rather than my user so I had to chown it manually.
