Case-insensitive matching in RE

Hi,

I wanted to do (pseudo-)case-insensitive matching on a bibliographical
field in DDC (v. 1.74-1, python-client):

etwas #has_field[author,/\b[mM]eier\b/]

hits: 0

Square brackets always seem to signal the end of the has_field option - or
can you escape them?
Or is there any other way to do or simulate case-insensitive matching in a
regex?
