Card decks in KDE4

Hi all,

after filing http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169248 I
realized I should have written to the list, instead.

Basically, I am making two points:

1) Normal playing cards are color on white, so the decks
should be renamed as follows:

oxygen -> oxygen-red
oxygen-white -> oxygen

I automatically chose oxygen, assuming this to be the
common default, only to change to -white some minutes
later.

2) What is currently known as oxygen-white is missing
the vine & sprinkles decal on the number cards.

Some parts of this message have been removed. Learn more about Nabble's security policy.

The default card deck will be renewed entirely for 4.2

The black and red deck was made by us for 4.0 when we tried to be *revolutionary* and *nontraditional*, but it looks like the traditionalists win this time.

The oxygen-white, on the other hand was not made by us. It was a hack of some unsatisfied user.

Anyhow, the entire set of decks will be cleaned and revamped for 4.2

Thanks for your comments,

it-s

For playing cards, I consider traditionalism a plus.

Understandably so ;)

Please keep the oxygen ones, they are rather slick (if not good for
extended use). NICU is nice for kids & Paris looks good even though
I personally dislike the more ornamental decks.

Yeah, I love the ones that look like felt and silver.

+1. I'm not usually into the card games in KDE (not because there's
anything wrong with them, just because I haven't felt the urge to play
freecell in some time), but this thread made me go take a look and try
the "oxygen" deck. Personally, it took me a minute to get used to, but
then I pretty much forgot about it, and it *is* pretty :-).

So I definitely want to keep it, and I have to disagree on the
playability; by the end of one round, it wasn't bothering me :-).
