	<content type="html">&lt;div&gt;Hi All,&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Wrapped com.gargoylesoftware.htmlunit.ScriptException has been encountered while automating the following scenario:&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Pre-Condition&lt;/strong&gt;: Need to login to client network using VPN after which I do not have access to internet&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;I have a small script wherein I have to invoke a particular URL which is hosted on a local server for e.g. &lt;a href=&quot;http://host:port/xyz.po&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://host:port/xyz.po&lt;/a&gt;. When I try to playback the recorded script, the above mentioned error is displayed and according test result is generated.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;When I analyse the problem, it seems that the above mentioned URL downloads a particular javascript (.js file) to render the complete page from a URL for which it needs access to internet for e.g. &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.xyz.com&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://www.xyz.com&lt;/a&gt;. And being on VPN, I do not have access to internet.&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;When I test the same scenario manually, I am able to set a proxy in my browser settings and simulate the same. I have also tried using the &amp;quot;setproxy&amp;quot; function of ANT but it does not seem to work. Or maybe am using the function incorrectly. Please find my usage below:&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt;setproxy proxyhost=&amp;quot;xxx.xxx.xxx.xx&amp;quot; proxyport=&amp;quot;1234&amp;quot;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; proxyuser=&amp;quot;abc7d8&amp;quot; proxypassword=&amp;quot;password&amp;quot;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; nonproxyhosts=&amp;quot;xxx.xxx.xxx.*&amp;quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;
&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Would request someone to kindly help me with the issue as it is blocker issue for me.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Thanks in advance!!&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;

Hi,&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
it seems that your web server isn&amp;#39;t correctly configured and doesn&amp;#39;t any&lt;br&gt;
content type header, is it possible? What happens in your &amp;quot;normal&amp;quot; browser?&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Cheers,&lt;br&gt;

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; Resolution: Invalid
&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Assign To: Marc Guillemot
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;WebTest saves the pages received from the server, not the related resources and therefore no images. Concerning a frameset, if index.html contains a frameset, WebTest will save it as result of invoke for instance but it won't save the contained frame as this couldn't be displayed without modifying the code of the received response what WebTest NEVER does to allow you to see exactly what the server sent. Nevertheless once you use for instance a &amp;lt;followFrame/&amp;gt; the selected frame will become the current response and will be displayed in the report.

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;wow, thank you for the fast response (you seem to know the reason already...)

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; library?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Ok, I understand now.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; This is an issue in the getter on the script object for innerHTML that
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; doesn't escape quotes.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Can you open an issue by HtmlUnit for that?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Cheers,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Marc.

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Hi Marc,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; I just managed to narrow down the problem:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; It has something to do with how a clickelement-step is used in a
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; test.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; I try to explain it:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; When you use clickElement with an xpath attribute (see example
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; below),
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; the internal StoreElementAttribute.findElement method returns the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; (xml or html) decoded version of the HtmlElement. (And that is WRONG!)
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; I wrote my own clickelement step where I simply dump the HtmlElement
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; with toString.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; If I use clickElement with htmlid instead, the HtmlElement contains
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; the correct (not) decoded version.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Our real world scenario is this - I hope I can explain that with a
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; few sentences:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; We try to click a link that has an onclick attribute. The onclick
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; attribute contains a functioncall with &amp;quot; for the double quotes of
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; the function parameters.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; The htmlcode for link itself is not in the page when the page is
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; delivered but inserted afterwards via an async call. The insert happens
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; by setting the innerHTML of a div in the original page.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; If you save my sample html code to a file and use firefox to inspect
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; the code you will see that everything is ok.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; But with webtest (I used build 1705 an 1714) you will get a java
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; script error saying that this is invalid javascript code:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; This is the webtest error from our project:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; JavaScript error loading page
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;a href=&quot;http://localhost:8081/backend/page/list.htm:&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://localhost:8081/backend/page/list.htm:&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;syntax error (onclick
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; event for HtmlAnchor[&amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;#&amp;quot; onclick=&amp;quot;var ret; ret=funcxy(this,&amp;quot;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; editpage=&amp;quot;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;]#2)
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Instead of the quote (&amp;quot;) there should be &amp;quot; in the string after
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; funcxy(this, !
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; I think this a bug in webtest itself- what do you mean?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Best regards,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; Hi Peter,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; the list is correct.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; Can you precise what your real problem is?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; Indeed it seems to me that the problem you report concerns how the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; current page state is dumped to a file. This looks like an error
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; (you
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; can report an issue by HtmlUnit for that) but this has no impact on
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; script execution.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; this is my first post to this list, I hope I'm doing this correct.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; We have a problem with &amp;quot; getting decoded twice in certain
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; javascript code when invoked from Webtest.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; I managed to write a simple testcode that shows my problem, here is
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; my testcode:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;body&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; = document.getElementById(&amp;quot;async&amp;quot;).innerHTML;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;do
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt; something&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;test&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; huh

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;/html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; When I run this webtest :
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; 			&amp;lt;invoke url=&amp;quot;/test.htm&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; 			&amp;lt;clickElement xpath=&amp;quot;//a[@title='mytest']&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;

	<content type="html">Ok, I understand now.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This is an issue in the getter on the script object for innerHTML that
&lt;br&gt;doesn't escape quotes.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Can you open an issue by HtmlUnit for that?
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Cheers,
&lt;br&gt;Marc.

&lt;div class='shrinkable-quote'&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Hi Marc,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; I just managed to narrow down the problem:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; It has something to do with how a clickelement-step is used in a test.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; I try to explain it:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; When you use clickElement with an xpath attribute (see example below),
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; the internal StoreElementAttribute.findElement method returns the (xml or html) decoded version of the HtmlElement. (And that is WRONG!)
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; I wrote my own clickelement step where I simply dump the HtmlElement with toString.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; If I use clickElement with htmlid instead, the HtmlElement contains the correct (not) decoded version.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Our real world scenario is this - I hope I can explain that with a few sentences:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; We try to click a link that has an onclick attribute. The onclick attribute contains a functioncall with &amp;quot; for the double quotes of the function parameters.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; The htmlcode for link itself is not in the page when the page is delivered but inserted afterwards via an async call. The insert happens by setting the innerHTML of a div in the original page.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; If you save my sample html code to a file and use firefox to inspect the code you will see that everything is ok.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; But with webtest (I used build 1705 an 1714) you will get a java script error saying that this is invalid javascript code:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; This is the webtest error from our project:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; JavaScript error loading page &lt;a href=&quot;http://localhost:8081/backend/page/list.htm:&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://localhost:8081/backend/page/list.htm:&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;syntax error (onclick event for HtmlAnchor[&amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;#&amp;quot; onclick=&amp;quot;var ret; ret=funcxy(this,&amp;quot; editpage=&amp;quot;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;]#2)
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Instead of the quote (&amp;quot;) there should be &amp;quot; in the string after funcxy(this, !
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; I think this a bug in webtest itself- what do you mean?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Best regards,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Hi Peter,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; the list is correct.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Can you precise what your real problem is?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Indeed it seems to me that the problem you report concerns how the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; current page state is dumped to a file. This looks like an error (you
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; can report an issue by HtmlUnit for that) but this has no impact on the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; script execution.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Cheers,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Marc.

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; We have a problem with &amp;quot; getting decoded twice in certain
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; javascript code when invoked from Webtest.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; I managed to write a simple testcode that shows my problem, here is
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; my testcode:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;body&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; something&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;test&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; huh
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;async&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;#&amp;quot; title=&amp;quot;test2&amp;quot;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; onclick=&amp;quot;javascript:document.getElementById(&amp;quot;testoutput&amp;quot;).inn
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; erHTML = &amp;quot;hello&amp;quot;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;do something more&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;testoutput&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;/body&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;/html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; When I run this webtest :
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; 			&amp;lt;invoke url=&amp;quot;/test.htm&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; 			&amp;lt;clickElement xpath=&amp;quot;//a[@title='mytest']&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; The resulting page looks like this:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;lt;html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;head/&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;The htmlcode for link itself is not in the page when the page is delivered but inserted afterwards via an async call. The insert happens by setting the innerHTML of a div in the original page.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If you save my sample html code to a file and use firefox to inspect the code you will see that everything is ok.
&lt;br&gt;But with webtest (I used build 1705 an 1714) you will get a java script error saying that this is invalid javascript code:
&lt;br&gt;This is the webtest error from our project:
&lt;br&gt;JavaScript error loading page &lt;a href=&quot;http://localhost:8081/backend/page/list.htm:&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://localhost:8081/backend/page/list.htm:&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;syntax error (onclick event for HtmlAnchor[&amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;#&amp;quot; onclick=&amp;quot;var ret; ret=funcxy(this,&amp;quot; editpage=&amp;quot;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;]#2)
&lt;br&gt;Instead of the quote (&amp;quot;) there should be &amp;quot; in the string after funcxy(this, !
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I think this a bug in webtest itself- what do you mean?
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Best regards,
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Peter

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Hi Peter,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; the list is correct.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Can you precise what your real problem is?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Indeed it seems to me that the problem you report concerns how the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; current page state is dumped to a file. This looks like an error (you
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; can report an issue by HtmlUnit for that) but this has no impact on the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; script execution.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Cheers,
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Marc.

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; I managed to write a simple testcode that shows my problem, here is

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;testoutput&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;/html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; When I run this webtest :
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; 			&amp;lt;invoke url=&amp;quot;/test.htm&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; The resulting page looks like this:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;head/&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; onclick=&amp;quot;javascript:document.getElementById(&amp;quot;test&amp;quot;).innerHTML

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;/html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; As you can see the &amp;quot; gets decoded although it shouldn't leading
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; to a broken javascript code in the test-div.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; When I perform the click in a regular browser the code is correct.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; To check simply save the code above to a file perfom the click in a
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; regular browser.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Any idea what goes wrong?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Best Regards,

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; As you can see the &amp;quot; gets decoded although it shouldn't leading to a broken javascript code in the test-div.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; When I perform the click in a regular browser the code is correct.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; To check simply save the code above to a file perfom the click in a regular browser.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Any idea what goes wrong?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;

	<content type="html">Thanks, Peter.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I had gotten a similar reply from Lee Butts on the Grails list,
&lt;br&gt;yesterday evening. &amp;nbsp;If I can make it work and do it in a &amp;quot;clean&amp;quot; way,
&lt;br&gt;I'll submit a patch to the plugin to include that functionality for others.

&lt;div class='shrinkable-quote'&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; I posted this question on the Grails list, too, but so far there are no
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; responses. &amp;nbsp;I thought I'd give it a whirl here.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Does anyone know how I can really get the Grails plugin to launch WebTest
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; using the proper protocol? &amp;nbsp;I already have:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;nbsp;webtest_protocol = https
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; in my webtest.properties file.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; You'll need to patch RunWebtest.groovy so that it includes
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;quot;RunAppHttps.groovy&amp;quot; rather than &amp;quot;RunApp.groovy&amp;quot; and invokes the
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;quot;runAppHttps&amp;quot; target rather than &amp;quot;runApp&amp;quot;. The advantage of including
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;quot;RunAppHttps.groovy&amp;quot; is that you can invoke either target, so you
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; could call one or the other based on some condition.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; To be honest, the Grails scripts could do with a bit of refactoring to
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; make it a bit easier to re-use targets from other scripts.
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Cheers,

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It turns out that, even though I've specified (i think) that the tests
&lt;br&gt;should run under HTTPS, that the Grails server is being started in
&lt;br&gt;regular HTTP mode. &amp;nbsp;I see now where the URL that is printed after start
&lt;br&gt;up specifies the correct port (8443), but an incorrect protocol - HTTP. &amp;nbsp;

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Htmlunit-2.2 - JavaScript error loading page file:/WebTest Head/tests/companyTest.html: TypeError: Cannot set property &amp;quot;returnValue&amp;quot; of null to &amp;quot;true&amp;quot; (file:/js/validations.js#1019)
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;HtmlUnit-2.2 against the server - JavaScript error loading page &lt;a href=&quot;http://qa-opm-03/administration/applicationConfig.do:&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://qa-opm-03/administration/applicationConfig.do:&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;TypeError: Cannot set property &amp;quot;returnValue&amp;quot; of null to &amp;quot;true&amp;quot; (&lt;a href=&quot;http://qa-opm-03/js/validations.js#925&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://qa-opm-03/js/validations.js#925&lt;/a&gt;)
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;So the errors with htmlunit 2.2 are similar when using the server versus locally, but are drastically different than 2.1, as 2.1 succeeds on the server and fails locally because I don't have the redirected to page locally.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Does this help to find the problem in HtmlUnit-2.2?
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks,

&lt;span style=&quot;font-family: Courier New,Courier,Monospace;&quot;&gt;Thanks Marc,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Yes, it looks like HtmlUnit has a parsing error that does not ignore well. The warning leads you to believe that it did ignore the VBScript when it really did not.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I've decided to use IeUnit instead of WebTest to overcome these problems for now.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class='shrinkable-quote'&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; From: &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.nabble.com/user/SendEmail.jtp?type=post&amp;post=19032852&amp;i=0&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;mguillemot@...&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; To: &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.nabble.com/user/SendEmail.jtp?type=post&amp;post=19032852&amp;i=1&quot; target=&quot;_top&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;webtest@...&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Subject: Re: [Webtest] How-To ignore VBScript code using WebTest&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Date: Mon, 18 Aug 2008 09:15:57 +0200&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Hi,&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; as you see when &quot;Script is not JavaScript (type: , language: VBScript).&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Skipping execution&quot; is printed on the log, VBScript are ignored by&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; HtmlUnit. In you case the problem is that some JavaScript function wants&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; to call a function normally defined in VBScript (here VBgetAcrobat)&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; which is not defined when HtmlUnit executes the script due to the fact&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; that it has been skipped. Maybe could HtmlUnIt perform a minimal parsing&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; of VBScript to catch function definitions to be able to define them with&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; empty body but it would probably just postpone a bit the problem.&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Cheers,&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Marc.&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; -- &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Blog: http://mguillem.wordpress.com&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Alan Guedeney wrote:&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; This is the simple login test case script:&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;webtest name=&quot;Valid - Login to PFW's website&quot;&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;       &amp;lt;config basepath=&quot;&quot;&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;             &amp;lt;header name=&quot;User-Agent&quot; value=&quot;Mozilla/4.0 (compatible;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; InfoPath.1)&quot;/&amp;gt;           &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;       &amp;lt;/config&amp;gt;       &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;       &amp;amp;Login;           &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;       &amp;lt;setInputField name=&quot;username&quot; value=&quot;joe&quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;       &amp;lt;setInputField name=&quot;password&quot; value=&quot;welcome&quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt;       &amp;lt;clickButton label=&quot;Submit&quot; /&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &amp;lt;/webtest&amp;gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; Upon execution I get an WARN: &quot;Script is not JavaScript (type: ,&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; &amp;gt; language: VBScript). &lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;Marc, thanks for taking time to answer:&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;Very possible my version is really old
&amp;nbsp;- it's 0.4 though - didn't think there would be that much difference.
I tried upgrading the plugin to 0.5.1 and kept getting problems with xml
not being included - very strange stuff. &lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;[java] Caught: :
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/xml/sax/ext/Attributes2&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;[java] &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;
at grails.util.WebTest.prepare(WebTest.groovy:67)&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;[java] &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;
at grails.util.WebTest.runTests(WebTest.groovy:30)&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;[java] &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;
at TestSuite.main(TestSuite.groovy:8)&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;i understand that it believes it's missing
an xml jar reference - just not sure if the jar(s) are present and just
missing in some reference or if the jar(s) are truly missing.&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;In the meantime, I've been able to fix
the 2 issues by modifying the xml inside the plugin:&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;1. For the embedded/external - i changed
the plugin to make external default&lt;/font&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;font size=2 face=&quot;sans-serif&quot;&gt;2. I added a maxmemory attribute to
the Java task and set the memory there. Not sure it was picking up the
environment variable and don't believe JVMARGs was getting into the forked
process. I believe the JVMARGs reaction is normal - but I'm concerned about
the environment variable.&lt;/font&gt;

based on a very old version of WebTest?&lt;br&gt;

&amp;gt; I'm currently using the WebTest plug-in for Grails and had 2 questions:&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; 1. I've tried using the JAVA_OPTS to extend the heap size but still
run&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; out of memory - it doesn't appear to be using the setting I provided
via&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; -D. What is the proper way to increase the memory used by the plug-in?&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; Does it use JAVA_OPTS or ANT_OPTS?&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; &lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; 2. I've used Groovy to generate tests for the Grails project (basically&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; modified CRUD app). The number of tests generated on the fly are around&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; 300 with approximately 15 steps each. The results are stored in a
single&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; WebFile - is there &amp;nbsp;configuration setting that I'm missing that
allows&lt;br&gt;
&amp;gt; for the Summary and Detail reports to be on separate pages?&lt;br&gt;

	<content type="html">Hello,
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;this is my first post to this list, I hope I'm doing this correct.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We have a problem with &amp;quot; getting decoded twice in certain javascript code when invoked from Webtest.
&lt;br&gt;I managed to write a simple testcode that shows my problem, here is my testcode:
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;body&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;#&amp;quot; title=&amp;quot;mytest&amp;quot; onclick=&amp;quot;javascript:document.getElementById(&amp;quot;test&amp;quot;).innerHTML = document.getElementById(&amp;quot;async&amp;quot;).innerHTML;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;do something&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;test&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;huh
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;async&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;a href=&amp;quot;#&amp;quot; title=&amp;quot;test2&amp;quot; onclick=&amp;quot;javascript:document.getElementById(&amp;quot;testoutput&amp;quot;).innerHTML = &amp;quot;hello&amp;quot;&amp;quot;&amp;gt;do something more&amp;lt;/a&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;div id=&amp;quot;testoutput&amp;quot;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;/body&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;/html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;When I run this webtest :
&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;invoke url=&amp;quot;/test.htm&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The resulting page looks like this:
&lt;br&gt;&amp;lt;html&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;head/&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;lt;body&amp;gt;

&lt;br&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; do something

&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;As you can see the &amp;quot; gets decoded although it shouldn't leading to a broken javascript code in the test-div.
&lt;br&gt;When I perform the click in a regular browser the code is correct.
&lt;br&gt;To check simply save the code above to a file perfom the click in a regular browser.
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Any idea what goes wrong?

	<content type="html">Hi,
&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;as you see when &amp;quot;Script is not JavaScript (type: , language: VBScript).
&lt;br&gt;Skipping execution&amp;quot; is printed on the log, VBScript are ignored by
&lt;br&gt;HtmlUnit. In you case the problem is that some JavaScript function wants
&lt;br&gt;to call a function normally defined in VBScript (here VBgetAcrobat)
&lt;br&gt;which is not defined when HtmlUnit executes the script due to the fact
&lt;br&gt;that it has been skipped. Maybe could HtmlUnIt perform a minimal parsing
&lt;br&gt;of VBScript to catch function definitions to be able to define them with
&lt;br&gt;empty body but it would probably just postpone a bit the problem.

&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; 1. I've tried using the JAVA_OPTS to extend the heap size but still run
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; out of memory - it doesn't appear to be using the setting I provided via
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; -D. What is the proper way to increase the memory used by the plug-in?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; Does it use JAVA_OPTS or ANT_OPTS?
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt;
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; 2. I've used Groovy to generate tests for the Grails project (basically
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; modified CRUD app). The number of tests generated on the fly are around
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; 300 with approximately 15 steps each. The results are stored in a single
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; WebFile - is there &amp;nbsp;configuration setting that I'm missing that allows
&lt;br&gt;&amp;gt; for the Summary and Detail reports to be on separate pages?
