Canon G3?

Has anyone tried running capture with the G3?

This is what I get:

Trying to connect to "/tmp/.capture_socket" ...
Client: Connected "/tmp/.capture_socket" as 3.
msg_send 3: start
msg_get 3: start error: could not initialize camera
start error: could not initialize camera
msg_send 3: detach
msg_get 3: detach ok

I assume this simply means that the G3 is unsupported. Any ideas?

I am using libptp2-1.1.0.

Hi,
yes, the initialization code was reverse-engineered and it may differ
for your camera.

You can try to run some USB sniffer on Windows to see how is your camera
initialized. Look also at the magic_code() in ptp-utils.c.

Try also ptpcanon which comes with libptp. Capture uses the came
initialization code.
