Cannot build lirc on OpenSuse 11Hallo,
i tried to build lirc 0.8.3 on OpenSuse 11 (final release) but failed completely. When i try to run the configure script, i get the following messages: > checking for Linux kernel sources... /tmp/LIRCMF.OI23ar:27: warning: > overriding commands for target `lirc_tell_me_what_cc_is' > /tmp/LIRCMF.OI23ar:24: warning: ignoring old commands for target > `lirc_tell_me_what_cc_is' make[2]: *** No rule to make target > `lirc_tell_me_what_cc_is'. I have the right kernel sources installed, ran "make cloneconfig" and "make oldconfig" and "make prepare". Other packages like the latest DVB drivers compile and work fine. I need the transmitter support that is unfortunately disabled in the lirc package that is shipped with OpenSuse. That's why i need to build my own. Any help is greatly appreciated. Custom IR ReceiverAll,
I have a desire to use my directv remotes. My understanding is that in order to do this, I should build my own IR receiver. If this is true, would someone please direct me as to which on it is? I spent some time reading the homebrew section of the lirc website, but in my inexperience I am unable to determine the type of IR receiver I need to build to accomplish this. Appreciate the guidance, Jason ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ |

Most remotes use the standard frequencies. Buy a cheap IR receiver and give it a try, probably easier than building one. If you can use other remotes to control the box it is on the standard frequency. > I spent some time reading the homebrew section of the lirc website, but > in my inexperience I am unable to determine the type of IR receiver I > need to build to accomplish this. > > Appreciate the guidance, > > Jason > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge > Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes > Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world > http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ > -- Jon Smirl jonsmirl@... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ |
