Cannot Start FirefoxI was just playing with the PHP module in netbeans. I figure - if I can do PHP
in netbeans, I might upgrade from Kate as my primary IDE. :P However, if I have firefox running already, then I get the message, "cannot start /usr/bin/firefox" when launching the applicaiton. If Firefox is not running then it launches just fine. I googled and see others with this issue. Any ideas? I'm running opensuse 10.3 32-bit. -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request |

Re: Cannot Start FirefoxIn 'Tools | Options | General | 'Firefox' selected in 'Web Browser'
combobox | 'Edit' button' , what are the arguments set for firefox? Is it '-remote "openURL({URL})"' ? Also: http://www.nabble.com/Cannot-execute--usr-bin-firefox--NB-6.0-M10--td11481241.html#a11483483 ...I have "-new-window {URL}" as the argument.... regards, karthik Kai Ponte wrote: > I was just playing with the PHP module in netbeans. Yes, it is. -remote "openURL({URL})" As I mentioned, if Firefox is not already open, the command works fine. If it is already open (which is usually the case), it fails. -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request |

Re: Cannot Start Firefox
What is the version on firefox that you are using? As per
http://osdir.com/ml/kde.akregator.user/2005-12/msg00010.html , simply
invoking 'firefox {URL}' works correctly with firefox 1.5 (whether it
is already opened or not).

I'm currently on 2.0.0.12 1.5 has been out of maintenance for some time now. There were some serious security issues with the 1.x branch. 3.0 beta is out and the release is around the corner. -- kai www.filesite.org || www.4thedadz.com || www.perfectreign.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request |
