Can't start GIMP...

I just installed Gimp 2.4 for Windows, and when I click the icon to
start the program, the startup screen displays "Looking for data files"
and "Fonts (this may take a while)" underneath that, then it stops and
up pops a gimp 2.4.exe error screen.  I am not having any problems
running any other programs...I'm not sure what other info to include in
this post, soany help would be greatly appreciated.

i got the same problem,but after i start the program from commandline,the problem just gone....may be you can try.
