Can't install Squirrel 2.6.5 on Kubuntu 8.04

Hi,
When I try to run the install.jar file for this a blank LzPack window opens up
with the heading "Installation of Squirrel SQL Cleint"   and then it just
stays there till I kill it.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I've seen this behavior recently on gutsy with Sun JDK 1.5 and Visual Effects set to "Normal".  I switched to running the installer with Sun JDK 1.6.0_03-b05 and I haven't seen the problem re-appear.

Excellent!  This was the clue I needed.
Just out of curiousity I used Synaptic to install the OpenJDK-6 package.
(had that failed I would have tried the Sun package next)
After doing that everything installed and Squirrel SQL is up and running!

(This is the fix for getting Squirrel SQL going with Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy
Heron)
